Aamchi Metrocities

If Delhi has its own governent body, why not Mumbai? I think all the five metro cities should be designated as semi states like Delhi. There is no question of assigning them status of UT. Only democratic elected government will represent the real participation of the local people. Probably we can make better of amchi Mumbai from Bombay (1993) or Mumbai (2005 & 2006).

Communalism

It happened, it has happened and it will happen unless we don’t stop it. 58 years ago a mahatma was shot dead, clash of civilization has started and humanity will suffer when an idea full of hatred ness and religious intolerance is born in the human mind. This widespread curse griped India very hard. India had suffered a lot not only in term of territory but also loss of human lives. The situation is still going on. As we make progress towards new and modern era, this devil of communalism has grown out of proportion and became a global threat to the humanity it self. Communalism is said to be a distorted form of professing and practicising religion. It has narrowed down the religion where there is no place for other's religious sentiments. Religion is a set of beliefs which explore truth of cosmos and help in moving the world like a giant wheel where every spook represents a religion. When a religion is full of spirituality it is said to be a liberating path. Without spiritualism it is communalism. Spirituality comes where there is quest for truth, solidarity and embodiment of love and joy. Absence of all leads to intolerance, non cooperation and treating others’ contemptuously.Am i right? I think so.

UNAIDS Report

According to the tenth UNAIDS report on the global AIDS epidemic released on 30 may 2006 India has the highset number of persons with HIV.Iindia has overtaken South Africa in total number of HIV cases. South Africa, with 5.5 million HIV cases, has a much higher prevalence rate among adults (18.8 percent) compared with India's infection rate of just 0.9 percent. But UNAIDS estimates that 5.7 million Indians are infected with HIV, an incredibly troubling statistic given that, with a billion people, even a small statistical increase results in a huge number of new infections.
Though government of india has rejected the report but if it is true,it would be horrible.
More stats:
1800 children contract HIV every day.
More than 4 million people were infected with HIV in 2005.
25 million people have died from HIV/AIDS in the last quarter century.
On average, only 9% of HIV-positive pregnant women receive retroviral treatment.
On average, only a third of young men -and just one fifth of young women - could correctly identify ways of preventing HIV transmission.
A bright spot: funding for HIV/AIDS is way up, nearly $8.3 billion last year

Fanaa for you

Darkness disappears when moon shines; night becomes pleasant .Loneliness converts to ecstasy of being in self. Black becomes beautiful. Innocence mingled with love leads to enlightenment and one moves closer to one's destiny.
It is heartening when child/boy-hood heroes strike back.
Winning or losing doesn't matter. Does it?
May be...

Protest over the Post

That post about the protests was neither derogatory nor cynical in nature. Neither it shows biasness nor it is inspired by any ideology. I deliberately chose some (a few) issues to expose some basic imperfections in our society which are well known and concerns for all, still we knowingly avoid it.These protests have their roots in jingoism, segregations, hatred and callousness not only towards humankind but also for environment; above all I should say for life on the planet. And i am baffled with the thought where does lie our responsibility.
I subsequently discuss these issues in my posts. Here, I will reflect upon one touching issue. Whenever we talk about reservation and subsidies we discuss (debate) with the same hatredness as usual that have been existing since time immemorial. Our rational thinking always plays with the idea of meritocracy. One question that intrigues is what lies beneath the meritocracy. Are we able to provide level playing field to every player in the game? For a large chunk of society basic amenities like education, health, drinking water and sanitation are distant dreams in this modern and hi-tech world where distance is limited to only two digits i.e. 0 and 1.We don’t think about sharing and caring. In country like India meritocracy is blended with aristocracy. We need to eliminate the ceiling of privileges to get everyone in the mainstream.
Nothing more...

To SALMAN, Bollywood.

The zoo
Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

Dear Man,
I am a chinkara. I am 6 years old. You don’t know about me. Unfortunately I was not there when you visited my ancestral home on that dreadful night. My grandma used to tell me a story about my grandpa. She told me that he was died like a hero. I have a doubt on it now, coz later on I grew up in the human company. (Recently I was rescued from a private farm, now I am in jail, I mean in ZOO.) It was not about heroism at all. He was shot on that night while he was running. This meant he hadn’t faced the death in the way you man do in the warfront. He hadn’t fought, sad but true. My grandma also said we weren’t lucky enough to attend his funeral because they who shot him, you know better loaded the carcass in the jeep, took him away and had a great feast. My grandma said my parents were also died in the same way. I don’t know about the fate of my grand ma. But i can guess. I am not so lucky to have the same course. I am in zoo; zoos are made to punish us for keeping company with human being and still remain alive.
I heard that you were also in the zoo, I mean jail. I learnt the lesson from my captivity that it is better to be shot down to death rather than to run away and to be captured alive later. You may also have learnt the lesson that it is better to drive the car over the poor fellows lying on the footpath rather than to shot down the chinkaras.
I am sorry for you poor chap and for my grand pa as well.
A victimized life...
Chinkara Kid.

Nature of Protests in India

See the protests in India...
1. The cream of India protested over the announcement made by a minister, not over the improvement of infrastructure…
2. People protested over the giving support to those people (Medha patkar and so) who are struggling silently for displaced poor fellows...
3. People burnt vehicles and destroyed properties just because a 76 years old died due to cardiac arrest
4. People opposed the sentence given to a celebrity who shot down a member of endangered species
Where are we heading?

Being Medha Patkar

On this day 76 years ago, a mahatma from Sabarmati Ashram dared to challenge the mighty empire for a noble cause. After 56 year of becoming citizens of a republic in the land of the mahatma to commemorate mahatma’s great sacrifices we, the citizens have renounced the great teachings of that mahatma. The whole process took a few minutes to destroy the age old hills of non violence and truth. The sepoys of the state, the state which mahatma carved out from the clutches of giant devil of imperialism, have been trying to crumble the light tower of non-violence in the ocean of terrorism, the lady, the Medha Patkar on 5 April 2006 just a day before THIS DAY.
Those who have lost the faith in ballots they embrace the bullets but what about those who hate the bullets and whose ballots have been torn away. The way for them to present their grievances is to have agitation without violence, the silent struggle.
What can I say more? In spite of having so many things to see and so much sounds to listen with so many feelings and, with so much emotions we are not able to respond. We have become blind, deaf and dumb and, the most horrible we have become stones.

A TRIBUTE

In the surfeit of political sacrifices and moral (melo) drama we forget real martyrdom. It is apparent that loss of lives doesn’t concern us but loss of office does. There was a little news about the recent crash of a mig jet in Barmer district of Rajasthan.
The following text is a tribute by truck drivers to those martyrs.

Coming from the heaven
Glowing like a star
Cruising to tear the horizon
You, make us to think over
Coz you are falling down
To hit the ground
Yes, we are here on the road
You were there like a bird.
Our jet is not flyer
Nor it is speedier
Our hearts are crashing
Our minds are exploding
Nobody’ll remember you
But we salute you, o brother
Till we die on the ground in the seat
JAI HIND.

OSCAR 2006

The result of a glamorous event in the scary and ghosty night gives us a ray of hope. The crashing of big mammoth and winning of small but beautiful, and powerful creation can be seen as emerging trend in America. It is like exposing the striking contrast blending of liberalism and hypocrisy in America. One corner of L.A that is Hollywood has accepted the reality that is racism in the surrounding area by awarding the CRASH.
Even the whole show about movies shows things are different now. “Capote” is talking about homosexual journalist researching a story on two psychotic killers and beginning to bond with one of them, “Good night, and good luck“is about a radio broadcaster in the 50’s taking on McCarthyism, the much hatred anti-communist hearing of America. Brokeback Mountain is all about exploring the love between two cowboys, the epitome of American machismo. Munich wonders whether in fighting terrorism, we ourselves become terrorists and expose the moral shadow of revenge. Syriana is all about oil politics that controls the world. This time OSCAR has won the hearts because the vote came out deep from the heart.

THE BLUES OF A MOCKING BIRD (on special day, today, 8 march)

Another night has passed. The zeal of demystifying the ecstasy had been riding over the pain of existence. The very much of existence of self had been kicked up on the boulevard of false egos of their counter parts. There was nothing to accept and there was everything to deny. The dreams have ceased to resurface in never ending sleep. Eyes were still as wide open as sky and were as dry as desert. The ever-growing thrust can never be quenched. The divine love and calm have been lost in lust and confusion. The slow and poisonous music sounds like storm destroying and rumbling every beautiful part of the life. The miracle that is life is not more than an illusion. The visiting place of evils has become my sacred place of redemption.

For The Namesake

Sometimes I think,
What I couldn’t think.
It was ridiculous,
Everything was being engineered.
Whatever it pretended to be subtle,
It turned out as a banal.
When I intruded my mind,
I saw the dark everywhere.
I closed my eyes.
Suddenly I was being disappeared,
I perplexed, at last I cried,
Help! Help!
(They say, “You are being shaped”)
How could I?
(Yes, you are)
I was appalled.
How could my identity be shaped?
If it didn’t exist any where.
I was getting lost,
Coz’ I was getting appellation.
I was beleaguered,
But I was fighting.
And I was wining, yes I was.
(They say, “It is myth.
Be what you are”)
I didn’t dare to be,
I was falling.
I struck that what seemed to
Be abysmal, just before that moment.
Help! Help!
I want to out of this bugbear.
Nobody was there,
To wake me up.
Yes I was dreaming...

I RUN FOR LIFE

Tonight I am fighting with vampires and trying to conquer them, before this I always succumbed to them. I never had such time sitting in the eye of the storm, thinking of everlasting tranquility. I was a normal man. I am, no doubt. I always chose what was best for me at the spur of moment. I cared for my philosophies and my ideologies. Millions of people had died before my prayer but I never succumbed to save them. As usual ,I loved my god , I loved my ego , I loved my land , I loved my bread, Nothing could spare me from myself, it was best (worst) of everything. I was beyond any fear, I never fought any battle but I always won the war. It was the best (worst) of time, I had.
Today I am fighting, I m scared, I may loose the battle ...But I choose the best of time and best of everything. No doubt I am trying to be a yogi…
This isn’t the first time nor it is the last.In every moment I surrender , I feel the Spirit moving through my body with every breath and I witness the twisting of my entire being each day. I still have some hope today...
Tomorrow if you see my autopsy report, please don’t mince words about my folly or wisdom But you will, I know...

Be silent ..George Bush , The Great President of USA is here

------Valedictory address of bush ((**)*show inner voice, the little bit he has)----
Hi guys ...(oh no) hi parteners..(oh condo wht ? yyaa )hi my Brave soldiers. Now it‘s sure that two large democracy will win the war (any way it doesn’t matter, I alone would be enough).I was thinking great repercussion we‘d have while I was in flight coming here. suddenly I got to loo so I landed there ..(name..condo tell e me pls ) yaa our hamid bhai ‘s land . I got there. You know we liberated that land where they dared to destroy Buddha, u know, your Buddha, but we liberated. This shows my broad mindedness, As I see daily in the mirror.
my condo darling always tells me there is no substitute of me. Wish I were found every where, god didn’t produce enough, but u know, I ‘m the great president of USA .I can do and I m trying to be everywhere. Daily in the night god comes in my dream and inspires me. No... No.., first apologizes not to produce so many bush, any way it does not matter now... But condo told me this country was different ,and I felt ,when I saw a little bush looking at me in PURANA Qilla .I told Ms Soniaji ,next time, he must be the prime minister of India, and our maanmohaan informed that small junior bush is the incarnation of god. I was happy, at last, god has recognized my precious place in the humankind. So this country is somewhat different.
Now come to business. I need not tell that condo darling has done already so I don’t need to repeat (any way who cares?).You know condo is very faithful and aggressive, of course ,in policy making. Black is always beautiful like night, like darkness that‘s why I like darkness everywhere so I give demo everywhere ,I mean ,democracy.
Yesterday I visited some great stone. (what it was)oh yes it was your father’s tomb. I was again thinking (rarely do this, coz my great head gets pain) one father and so may population. How is it? it‘s god‘s grace. That’s why I banned abortions and any precautionary measures when you are playing natural game. Everyone should have freedom like dogs have and you know we provide it in our country, the great USA.
I have to go . ..I wanna loo.. oh condo please help me ...just take me away…I ‘ll be back ……don’t go away..

Your sincerity and sensitivity...

Dear, I appreciate your way of looking, to look brighter aspects. For me to be blind or to be bedazzled is the same thing, this doesn’t mean I m a cynical. Neither I am apprehensive nor do I believe in nagging. I believe that for the improvement of the things we should keep in mind the fallacies degrading them and, missing and weak links which can serve as justifiable reasons to do, believe, or think something.
The very fundamental thread in democracy is the rule of law. Don’t you think in capitalistic (feudal) mode of socialism we have created privileged business class, privileged bureaucrats, privileged workers and even privileged criminals? The less said about privileged politician, the better.
Yes, we are evolving but how long will it take and how much sacrifice do we need to make? My heart bleeds when, instead of liberty, equality and fraternity, one gets death.
As Dickens put “There is best of time, there is worst of time… we have every thing before us and we have nothing before us”.
It is we who decide what to choose, best of the time and best of everything, Perhaps!
And thanks for your lovely, sincere and sensitive remarks..

Rang de Basanti : Somewhere I lost..

There is life and, there is death too. Somewhere life is getting shape in and somewhere , the best friend of life i.e the death is getting out the life.Budha is smiling as usual. And we are laughing ,always. Life and death dont matter. Is this ture?
Last Sunday I watched rang de basanti . The movie’s cinematography was excellent. The direction was equally good. All characters were well knitted and, everyone played his/her role not below the expectation,of course Ms. khan with angrezi mam was damn good (in look ).(Oye dnt forget apna amir, DJ in movie..).Every thing is good for everyone ,i think ,except for someone like me.It (movie) had strained me beyond my tenacity .It took time to recuperate myself .It had drained me out emotionally. It seemed storyline in later half had lost in the long closed tunnel which engulfed its joy, colours, warmth and, ofcourse ,someone like me.
I was interrupetd ,at the end ,by thinking about the killing of four boys in kashmir, just happened 2-3 days before. Are we moving towards that democracy where state has become so giant that it is not able to see its building block i.e.citizen? Is it conquering moksha where it can survive without providing life to its unit cell ? Vow, then it needs not care about sundry things like we, the citizens, and it will survive without them (?). Ok ,it has got eternity at last. The vast machinery of state is so organised ,in the name of democracy, that if some one moves out a little bit he wll be eliminated. Yes , my dear, truth is no longer your defence here.Beware ,this is democracy which protects your rights by preserving them in a well versed holy book and protection of the book is more important than life and deeath of citizens.
Wish i were the state so that i couldnt care for cells.Basic instincts working here !, how can a member differs from organisation ?..something wrong within ourself..we need to think about it. we shoudnt have the attitude of "who cares? "
Well , like me , some human being but privileged ,the great proponent of democracy , the great (?) Mr bush from the land of Lincon is coming here , the land of budha and gandhi ji. we should welcome him.shouldn't we?
-----interrupted again-----sorry---

===========================================================
the comments i got on its earlier version of my blog
arcane:mittal ... dost.... gud that you posted this thought provoking blog over here....but i have become thoughtless after reading this....
saurabh:He hehehehemittal n chaitu wil perhaps bring the best aspect of any democracy to fore here in this forum....healthy criticism keep me posted
m8al:Your concerns are understandable and in my opinion not entirely justiciable. For one, I do not agree that the concept of statehood has achieved eternity. No control structure can last forever its just in the nature of things. Democracy in India, inspite of many current deficiencies, is improving. I am not saying it is any where close what it should be but yes it is moving closer with every passing day, since the emergency. I see it happening and if you care to see beyond the junk news that the media keeps throwing at us, may be you will too.Your pessimism is unfortunate and unhealthy but not unwarranted. I'd look at the machinery of the state, as an engine which needs lubrication, new parts or may be an overhaul, and not as one which needs to be replaced. Our society has repeatedly put its members under the knife in the name of communal violence and the armed forces are but an extension of our society why should one expect them to be any different from the barbaric sword wielding mobs that we are? Change begins at the unit level. If your cells are healthy so are you and yes one is expected to keep his organs/cells healthy. But how is that possible when most of the cells are rotten and sick. How can you function when you are bed ridden?? The analogy to a considerable extent is applicable to the State and its cells - individuals as well. The stomach can't expect to be treated to good food if it is housing an ulcer can it? Why should we?
saurabh:Well Mittal,What u have brought out is a very true (n disturbing) picture of things in our so called democratic set up. Today it seems to be "autocracy with a human face" specially if we look at the grassroots level in the country. Things must be changed. From the point of view of a self-aware individual democracy only keeps him protected from gross violations of his personal freedom. Democracy never was n will never be a replacement or even an appendage to the perosnal quest of such a woman to the frontiers far away from the cacophony of a democratic society (if it ever may become a "society")
